As a youngster Zoidberg wanted to become a fighter, following the footsteps of his hero Tito Ortiz. Unfortunately this was discouraged by his parents and he was pushed to developed an interest in medical science. In spite of trying to win his parents respect and studying medicine, he was then looked down upon because he gave up his dream of becoming a fighter. He never received a doctorate in medicine but in art history. However, he started practicing medicine nonetheless.
