On July 4th, 2025 WOVA Red Light hosts their landmark 5th Fight Night event at the sold out Beer Garden arena in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This event is set to showcase some of the promotion's best up and coming prospects. All 20 fighters will be making their promotional debuts, with 12 being undefeated, showcasing WOVA Red Light’s explosive launch into the MMA scene.
Opening the card in the Light Heavyweight division, dangerous brawler Gregory "The Ghoul" Volkov (0-1, 0-0 RL) looks to earn his first professional win as he takes on "The Lion" Lax (1-0, 0-0 RL), an undefeated walking highlight reel coming off a 23-second Superman punch KO in his pro debut. WOVA Red Light knows what they're doing putting this as the opening fight as it should set the tone for what is sure to be an explosive event!
Next up, also in the Light Heavyweight division, in the first of three “O’s got to go” matchups, Alexis Dorsey (1-0, 0-0 RL) takes on the evenly matched Eddie Jonatas (0-0). Will Dorsey spoil the debut of Eddie Jonatas or will Jonatas be able to halt Dorsey’s hype? What we do know, however, is that there will be fireworks when they meet in the cage.
Moving to the Middleweight division, undefeated striker Rodney Tapia (1-0, 0-0 RL) looks to build off a second round TKO as he takes on part-time model Quinten "El ChĂ mpion" Andrade (0-1, 0-0 RL) who's looking to notch his first professional victory.
Going down to the Bantamweight division, dangerous grappler Ruslan "Fotograf" Kornilov (4-1, 0-0 RL) looks to make it five submissions in a row as he takes on the well-rounded Liam Blackman (1-1, 0-0 RL), who's wanting to get back in the win column. Kornilov is looking to make a statement in this matchup as he wants to gain the respect he believes he deserves and get a big opportunity next, instead of being buried on the lower half of the card.
Moving up to the big boys in the Heavyweight division, undefeated knockout artist Alex Moss (1-0, 0-0 RL) takes on TWGC 44 Semi-finalist Galiev "The Monster" Magomedocov (1-1, 0-0 RL) in what is a perfect example of a striker vs grappler matchup. Whoever is able to implement their craft will most likely be able to find the finish.
Next up, in the Welterweight division, undefeated Royce "King Of Rio" Verdum (1-0, 0-0 RL), coming off a domination in his pro debut, takes on the resilient striker Danny Woods (1-2, 0-0 RL), coming off back-to-back losses. Will the “King of Rio” make it three in a row for Woods or will Woods even out his record?
Also in the Welterweight division, another “O’s got to go” matchup will occur as technical strikers Peter “Del Lobo” Wolfe (1-0, 0-0 RL) and Barry "The Slapstorm" McSmack (2-0, 0-0 RL) aim to get their first professional finishes in what is sure to be a high-level stand-up affair.
The featured fight of the card will occur in the Lightweight division as kill-or-be-killed striker Alfred "The Butler" McBride (1-1, 0-0 RL), who may know a certain bat-themed superhero, takes on undefeated submission ace "The Viper" Jared Gunnar (3-0, 0-0 RL).
In the co-main event of the night in the Light Heavyweight division, undefeated Wanderson Santos (2-0, 0-0), who has proven dangerous everywhere with a submission and, most recently, a 15-second KO, takes on the dangerous grappler Breno Ribeiro (1-1, 0-0 RL), who's aiming to make it two submissions in a row. It will be interesting to see what Santos’ game plan will be heading into this bout and whether he will play into where Ribeiro is most dangerous.
Ladies and gentlemen, in the main event of the evening, a fight between two of the most dangerous up-and-coming undefeated prospects in the Middleweight division. For the third and final time tonight, an “O’s got to go” as Spaniard David Alvarado (4-0, 0-0 RL) aims to make it 5 submissions in a row as he takes on the ultra-dangerous Brazilian striker Ignacio Lopes (2-0, 0-0 RL), who has ended both of his pro victories in a combined 67 seconds. It would be a shock if this fight hits the scorecards in what is the definition of a blink-or-you'll-miss-it fight. Will Alvarado break Lopes’ arm, or will Lopes break him with them? What is certain, though, is that the man who comes out on top will have a bright future in this sport. |
