Guillaume was a stand out wrestler in high school, winning the youth national championships on 3 occasions. At the age of 15 his parents died in a gangland killing, causing him to turn to anger, violence and crime.

At 16 Guillaume was arrested for assault, he then spent the next 12 months in a youth detention facility where he focused on strength and conditioning.

Upon release at the age of 17, Guillaume vowed to not return to custody, and started training MMA.
