Gerrie is the son of an ostrich farmer near Oudsthoorn. He learned his kicking talents by observing the ostriches on the farm. There was even stories of him practicing his kicking against ostriches and getting hurt badly in the process. He went to The Island to try and be the best kickboxer ever.
