Nero first approached Bwang Jong Sr's representatives at the 2015 European Arm Wrestling Championships, the year he won gold, to demand a place on the elite KT training program at The Zoo in Las Vegas. Considering his rawness and with other scouts hovering they suggested he enter a Finnish MMA tournament under a false name to prove himself. Nero reached the final showing a good chin and KO power so a space was made for him at the Bwang Jong Academy.
