|
Frik is the son of a sheep farmer in the Pofadder district in the Northern Cape. Frik was nicknamed "Bus" by his mates, because he was always the biggest kid in the village. He was known to carry one sheep in each arm when loading their truck for the market. After finishing school in Pofadder, Frik joined the South African Defence Force and was later deployed in the Congo as part of the Special Forces. He was relieved of his duty in 2018 to start his MMA career. |
