Jeremy grew up in the small town of Idaho Falls. With not much to keep the youth distracted, most turn to sex and drugs. Jeremy turned to music. He formed a hardcore band by the name of Hood One.
The majority of the band adopted a "Straight Edge" lifestyle while Stapleton, straight-edge himself, did not like the forceful/pushy nature of the movement and went on to MMA. It was a natural fit since so much of an Idaho Falls young male's life usually involves quite a bit of fighting.
