PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oskar Friman (ranked 342 p4p, 636 weight class) and Disco Kid (ranked 43 p4p, 87 weight class). Kid is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Wu Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oskar Friman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Disco Kid!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.

Kid closes this distance looking for a takedown but Friman circles away.
Friman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kid lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Friman circles away quickly and effectively.

It looked like Friman was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kid.

Kid tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Friman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Friman wants to control but Kid is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Friman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kid lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
My spies in The House Of Pain inform me that Kid has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Kid is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oskar Friman will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Disco Kid comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kid has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
